Mindfulness

Mindfulness is defined as the quality or state of being aware and present in the moment. It is a form of meditation that can be practised anywhere at any time and has been shown to provide numerous benefits for mental and physical health.

Mindfulness can help combat the cost of living crisis by reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep quality, and boosting productivity.

Practising mindfulness can also help you savour the good moments and find contentment in everyday life, which can be a significant boost with the cost of living crisis. Mindfulness can help us to feel more in control when everything feels out of control. It can help us to find a sense of calm amidst the storm.

When we are mindful, we are present in the moment and aware of our thoughts and feelings without judgement. This allows us to step back from our emotions and see the bigger picture. It gives us a chance to make more deliberate choices about how we respond to difficult situations.

Mindfulness can help us to cope with stress, anxiety and depression. It can boost our immune system and increase our resilience. And it can help us to find meaning and purpose in difficult times.

There are many ways to practise mindfulness, including meditation, yoga, Tai Chi and walking in nature. You can also be mindful in your everyday activities, such as eating, drinking, washing or brushing your teeth. Just take a few moments to focus your attention on the sensations you are experiencing in your body and the breath moving in and out of your lungs.

Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, without judgement. It is about being aware of your thoughts, feelings and surroundings, and accepting them without trying to change them.
